Two days before a Stay in Place order became effective in Orange County, Florida I ventured out with my Minelab E-TRAC. It was only my second time out with the E-TRAC and I was still learning how to use it. It was a hot afternoon in central Florida so I only planned on an hour of detecting. After about 45 minutes I had a strong tone that caught my immediate attention. I knelt down and upon digging up the target I realized that I I'd just discovered one of my top 5 finds... ever. The 14K gold ring is stunningly beautiful and in amazing shape. While it has no name engraved in it, it does have a fire fighter's rank and promotion date. I've just started the search for the rings owner but with the national emergency taking front stage it may be awhile before I am successful. I have created a YouTube video and I've also reached out to several Philadelphia area metal detectorists. I'm hoping to find a contact in the Philadelphia area fire department that can assist me with my search.
