Broken rings and crosses.

04 Jul 2016

It was another Sunday night kids are now on school holidays glued to the TV playing x box games with their friends. I had to make a suggestion to get them outside so I said let's go detecting! I was answered by a few NOs and can't be bothered. I persisted so we ended up going. My friends’ kids are new to detecting and have been out a few times with me and my son. Amongst our finds were: a broken heavy ring we had to dig a few times to get all the pieces; a cross; two matchbox cars, still in good condition and over $10.00 in coins. Not too bad for a couple hours of detecting.

All the coins that my son is finding, he is saving to buy a Minelab GO-FIND 60. My friends’ son on hearing that said we should go detecting more often and play less TV games. The strange thing is that he wants to start saving for a machine for Christmas. I suggested a GO-FIND as they are compact, light and easy to use.

All the two kids and the teenager had a go on the X-TERRA 705 and they all took turns at digging and using the long handled scoop. So now we have a few new members to the hobby of metal detecting and they can't wait to get their new machines as the warmer months start coming around.

Thanks Minelab and happy hunting!
