Getting the most from your GOLD MONSTER 1000

20 Jul 2017

A few years back, I was remarking to some friends that it would be really great if Minelab made a high sensitivity VLF metal detector.  The Eureka Gold was a fine machine but at the time I was saying this I knew the technology had advanced and there was an opportunity for a research and development oriented company like Minelab to make a state-of-the-art metal detector within this category.

When I heard about the GOLD MONSTER 1000 (GM 1000), I was very excited to see just what the engineers and other scientists at Minelab had come up with.  In addition to that, I was lucky enough to receive one a little bit early to give it a try and to see how it performed.

Well, I've had it out detecting in a number of places in both Nevada and California and I've found gold with it, even in places where the ground is fairly difficult and mineralized.  The GM 1000 proved to be a very sensitive metal detector and I was able to find bits of gold that were surprisingly small while still obtaining excellent depth for VLF metal detector.

Needless to say I was very impressed, and the GM 1000 fulfilled just what I had been wishing for a few years before.  Because I had the chance to get a little bit of a head start, I thought I would share with everyone my thoughts on the GM 1000.

I have done up three videos to take a look at using this fine new detector.  The first video is an introduction and discussion of the special features and advantages of the GM 1000.  The second video is a field demonstration of the detector in two locations - one difficult (high mineral) and one easy (low mineralization).  The third video discusses my hints and suggestions for success in finding gold using the GM 1000.

Part 1 - Introduction

Part 2 - Field Demonstration of the GOLD MONSTER 1000

Part 3 - Hints and suggestions for success with the GOLD MONSTER 1000

Thanks for watching and good luck out there!

Thanks for the great set of videos Chris, they're much appreciated (I don't have a GM1000) but always appreciate someone taking the time to share knowledge, regardless of platform.
