Golden Viking ring

05 Mar 2019

The ring was found on a former seabed where trade has been done for centuries. It was uncertain whether Scandinavian population lived in this area. The ring was found with a CTX 3030 in a field about 20 cm deep. Research showed that the ring comes from the 8th century and is 20k gold and weighs almost 10 grams. That there were Scandinavian relations could now be confirmed. An important fact in the historical context of the area. The ring was transferred to the museum in Leiden in the Netherlands.
