E-TRAC finds ruby ring

14 Jul 2018

On a midmorning beach hunt, at low tide, I found a spot on the beach near the low tide line where the sand had been washed away. This area was at least three feet lower than the rest of the beach, after about 15 minutes of swinging my coil, I received a mixed signal. Thinking I was about to unearth another toy car, I unenthusiastically dug for the object. After a few scoops I saw a red stone poking out of a crusty ball of sand. I thought I had unearthed a school ring and my mind quickly turned to thoughts of finding the person whom lost it. After arriving home I soaked the object in some white vinegar to help soften the crust that entombed it. It was a short time later that I realized I had found this amazing 4ct ruby ring.
