Bucket list silver

03 Jul 2018

It's not often you find a rare coin, it's even rarer when you find them in some heavily hunted ground, where if you find a pull tab you're doing awesome!

Set in a 1852 mining town I hit the same patch of grass every other detectorist had gone over since detectors had come out in the 70s. But this time I had a bit more information, information that told me where the racetrack stands used to be 150 years ago. This lead me to a little patch of grass some 50 meters from the last detector holes. Then it happend! 15 meters apart I found an 1883 Half Crown and then it's sexy mate, an 1933 Australian Florin! Two bucket list coins right where everyone else should have got them. The EQUINOX 600 just keeps finding stuff in thrashed spots. I'm revisiting all my former detecting sites because of it. Here's to many more!
