SDC 2300 Battery Compartment - Care and Maintenance

15 Aug 2014

In the majority of instances, inserting the batteries into the detector should result in trouble-free operation, but if intermittent power problems are experienced, here are three tips that may help overcome any difficulties:

  • Keep the waterproof seal clean and free from dirt, especially when submersing the detector. Small amounts of sand, dirt or grit may compromise the integrity of the waterproof seal. For more information, please refer to the SDC 2300 instruction manual.
  • Ensure the battery contacts are clean. Even new batteries could have a residue on the battery terminals that may result in intermittent operation through poor contact with the battery springs in the detector.
  • Insert the battery door ’square on’ to the end of the detector.  Closing the battery door ‘at an angle’ may cause the battery springs to incorrectly align towards the plastic battery insulation material, rather than the metal contact terminal, potentially causing intermittent power failures when the detector is knocked.

If you follow the above tips and still experience any ongoing power failure problems, please contact your dealer, or a Minelab Authorised Service Center.
