    Verify your detector visually on the security label

    (All products with the exception of GPX 4500, GPX 4800, GPX 5000 and early build standard SDC 2300).

    Three other visual ways you can authenticate your security code label:

    LED CODE

    When a strong LED light (e.g., phone flashlight) is shone above the space indicated, the last character of the security code appears as a bright shimmering character that moves up and down.

    ROTATING CODE

    When a strong LED light (e.g., phone flashlight) is shone above the space indicated, the last character of the security code will rotate.

    MAGNIFYING CODE

    Using a magnifying lens (10x) above the space indicated, the security code is seen in micro print above the Minelab logo.

    Your local Minelab dealer will be able to confirm the authenticity of the security label on your detector by using a special security viewer. This viewer is on Minelab pamphlets.

    On a genuine Minelab detector, you will see: 

    •  clear and rainbow colours
    • rainbow colours in the word 'GENUINE'
    • a silver background

    Please note that there are three (3) possible styles of hidden images on the security label. These are examples only and there are more images available. 

    Verify your detector by SMS

    Locate your Security code or Hidden code

    Send a SMS to one of the bellow phone numbers:

    Enter the 11 digit serial number followed by a space and then the 4 digits from the security code or the hidden code and push send.

    If you suspect a Minelab product is counterfeit, follow these simple steps to report it:
