What is it ????????

29 Apr 2018

Our club had a hunt last Saturday on an Island in Connecticut which dates back to late 1700's . A few of us hiked into the wooded area off the main path and into the thick brush and we can upon an area that started producing Indian head pennies and seated dimes. I headed to a steep bank and right under a massive old tree was another dime signal but this time it was in the shape of a dog tag. Started to clean it up but noticed no hole. I started to brush off the dirt and was amazed at what I found. In ID Tag for a Cook... I have talked to the local historian but no information yet. I have seen a few other cook I.D. badges from Civil War camps. Hope this is the real deal....
