I was metal detecting had found several old coins and a gilded gold shank button. when I was in mid hunt when all of a sudden I had a solid 23 hit on the VDI on the Nox 800. I pin pointed my target and it was showing 10 inches as soon as I dug my plug I pulled out a beautiful Rare Louisiana State Civil War Button in beautiful condition. the only thing missing is the shank on the button. I did the research on it and it is in deed a rare button. Mind this I am in South Texas some 800 miles away from the Louisiana border but we do have a Civil War military post here in Laredo, Tx. called Ft. McIntosh.
