Gold Posey Ring

04 Nov 2021

I had walked across a stubble field in Norfolk England, the stubble although short was proving a challenge, thankfully I had fitted a coil stiffener which made life a little easier. I had to make a decision when reaching the opposite side of the field, do I stay in this field or venture into the adjoining field. I choosed the latter and entered the field again in stubble through a small opening. I had only walked no more than 2 metres when I got a signal on the Equinox 800, a steady 11, dug down no more than 10cm turned the spit over and to my surprise what looked like a ring, a gold one at that made an appearance, after carefully removing the earth revealed a Posey ring with the inscription being on the outside which is either in early French or Latin. The next day I informed the Landowner and tomorrow I will contact the county coroner to begin the treasure process which will hopefully give a more accurate ID.
