Finally, the sun has thawed our soil

23 Mar 2018

Finally spring. Finally, the first action. Grandpa told a friend about the end of the war. The Germans did not want to surrender at their village, and they surrounded the US Army patrol in a small forest on the hill. He remembered that for two days the US unit had defended them more than they had come to help with the aircraft, and with which they managed to break into safety. All winter we were looking forward to verifying the information. And even in a dream it would not have occurred to us that the story would be so true. That we can find artefacts that will confirm this story. The forest was surrounded by a field on the hill from all sides. The edge of the forest was framed by an old stonewall. The place to defend is ideal. With our friend, we looked at each other, switched on our CTX 3030, and time began to return slowly back to 1945. We found shelters of US infantry. Shrapnel and bullets were everywhere on the ground, even in the trees. There was a real hell here. Field led a small draw from the thorny bushes, and it was probably the only way to attack German troops. We found artefacts along the German Army and many big missiles from US aircraft. Airplanes attacked from the west, and in this direction, we picked up the fragments of machine-gun belts and cartridges from the P-47 Thunderbolt. After the day of search, we sat down at the edge of the woods, imagining how the boys from Texas or the Arizona were fighting for a small, insignificant little tree in the middle of nowhere. Forest released many artefacts into different weapons. But one was standing clean-up, and I write to him for this. The cartridge is in the US anti-tank rifle 55BoysAntiTank and was probably shot by a shot of a German 9mm submachine gun. Look at the photos - something similar will not be found right now.
