I was walking a line on a stubble field, and 2 U.S. jets from the U.S. Lakenheath military base flew very low over head. I stopped swinging my Equinox800 and looked up to watch them. The jets disappeared into the distance. I resumed the search on the same line. The planes appeared a few minutes later, even lower this time and circled at the highest point of the field. They repeated this 4 times. So I thought I'd change my direction i was walking and head off to the right, towards the hill part of the site. As i hoped the jets would return and I'd be standing directly under them. A few meters walked in the new direction the Equinox800 rung a sweet smooth tone in the headphones. 2 spades worth of soil removed , and i saw a glimpse of a buttery yellow drop of my spade. I didn't touch the find, just looked and called for my detecting buddy Lisa to come over. I asked her to pick the find up and reveal it to my as I filmed it on my phone. You can hear my lack of words , and just the odd noises I made i was shocked to have found a gold sovereign of King George III dated 1820. So thanks to the airmen taking that repeated flight path, I found that coin. Since I've been using my Equinox800 I have had some great finds. You can see them all on my Instagram feed of mudfacegirl
