He discovered one of the largest gold coins, it is a 1782 Spanish 8 escudos minted in Mexico with 27 grams of 22k gold. He is an experienced detectorist, but in the excitement of the discovery he forgot to check the hole. A returning customer / friend took another 8 shields that had been in the same hole.
