Bio
My name is Oddbjørn Kåsine and I have been metal detecting for 17 years now, since 2006.
Telemark (Norway), where I live, there are many traces from the Viking age, so sometimes I find objects from this time period or older.
But mostely I like to search for coins more than relics. What motivates me in this hobby is the knowledge you acquire for each object you find. But also all the people I meet on my way, and their stories from the areas I am allowed to search.
I make films almost every time I going out detecting, and post them on my YouTube channel. (Detekting Telemark.) There are not many Norwegian YouTubers in metal detecting, so I have chosen to only speak Norwegian in my films. And the interest for metal detecting has increased extremely in recent years here in Norway.
I have a lot of experience with Equinox 800, but also Vanquish 440.. and now this year I use Manticore. Manticore is the ultimate machine for my use. The best machine I have ever used, and I have tried alot of diffrent brands.
