Evan Granger - Introduction to Treasure Talk

February 12, 2013 04:20pm

I’d like to introduce Evan Granger as our newest member to Minelab’s Treasure Talk blog. Evan has been detecting since he was 12. Accompanied by his father and mentor, his first major find was a Mason jar cache of Morgan Dollars and other coins left in a post-hole bank. After that, he was hooked and has been metal detecting for over 28 years.

Evan has experience with several types of metal detectors and enjoys using new technology. His ability to quickly pick up a metal detector and understand it has been a key factor to his success. He loves the aspect of recovering and saving lost history.

Mark Williams - Introduction to Treasure Talk

January 05, 2012 03:10pm

Mark Williams as far back as he can remember has always been fascinated with old bric a brac from bygone eras. He grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, but his ancestors were some of the first people to settle in the far north of the state. He spent much of his young life visiting his grandparents in the country and it was not unusual to find Mark at some old dump site or ruin full of old relics that he could spend hours rummaging through and trying to work out what they were used for.

At the age of 25 Mark bought his first Minelab Eldorado MkII and with grand visions of great riches to be found he was hooked well and truly on metal detecting.

David enjoys reading about US History and loves to spend time conducting research. He is an avid Civil War enthusiast and loves to visit the battlefields around his home in Virginia. He started metal detecting in 2005 and actually enjoys knocking on doors to ask for permission to hunt for relics on private property. David says “it only takes one land owner to give you permission to hunt. Put a Minelab in their hands, and you’ve made a friend for life. Just be sure to get your Minelab back when you leave!”
