It was winter and I had spent eight hours in the field freezing without finding anything particularly exciting. Because I could not handle the cold anymore, I decided to go back to the car and call it a day. When I was three meters (9,84ft) from where my car parked my metal detector started to beep like crazy. I decided to dig signal and suddenly this Iron Age fibula looked up and smiled at me.
Not just my best discovery but also the best "back to the car" story I've experienced!
