Small medieval coins

07 Sep 2017

I was searching on an old medieval site. After digging up very tiny pieces of lead and other small fragments with the CTX 3030, I got a small low signal. I popped out a small coin out of the ground! No! Two coins stuck on each other! These are the things I'm searching for! When I got home and rinsed the coins in water, the coins fell apart and after the careful cleaning with lemon juice these beautiful 12th century local Frisian (northern part of the Netherlands) coins were first seen in 800 years by me! These coins weigh just 0.45 and 0.34 gram a piece! These are my finds of the month!!
