Reunited! 39 years ago, right out of bootcamp, 22 year Navy Veteran Allan Puckett lost his 1975 Ketchikan, AK High School ring playing frisbee at the beach in La Jolla, CA. Well, yesterday I was fortunate enough to find it while metal detecting using my Minelab Sovereign GT! Thanks to his signature inscribed in the back, I tracked Allan down through Facebook and told him I'd found his class ring and where. He said, "That happens to be exactly where I lost it, In 1978!". When I sent him the pictures, he was absolutely thrilled. The cool thing is that Allan now lives a short drive from me in San Diego so I will be able to personally hand it to him soon.
S.R Ford once said, "Buried treasure isn't worth much." To me, being able to reunite someone with their past is the real treasure. Thanks Minelab!
