Metal Detecting with Minelab literally changed my life!

04 Apr 2017

I started metal detecting back in September of 2016. Without a doubt, I am still a rookie, but I think I have done pretty well so far. When I first began detecting, I was extremely overweight. I told myself that I needed to get more active and I wanted to find something I could enjoy doing. I fronted up the money for a Minelab E-TRAC and convinced one of my good friends to join me in trying out the hobby.

Literally my first day out detecting in Orrville Ohio, I found a 1844-O Half dime. I was instantly hooked. Week after week, I went out detecting. I met up with different people from the detecting community and learned more and more. I went from digging pounds of trash to pulling out great targets one after another. I learned how to research sites, and do map studies to find historical home sites that have vanished over time.

Within a month of going out regularly, I noticed that my clothes were getting loose, and my weight started flying off. Before I knew it I was down, 25, 50, 100 pounds. My endurance has increased, my resting heart rate dropped from the high 80's down to the 50's. My blood pressure is at a good level and I feel great. Not to mention I also have one really beefy detecting arm...

If It wasn't for picking up my E-TRAC when I did, I'm pretty sure I would still be extremely unhealthy, sitting around and sulking.

Thanks for making an amazing and reliable product, you guys literally changed my life!
