I recovered this 2.4 penny weight (dwt) nugget while metal detecting in Nevada over the 2017 Memorial Day weekend using a Minelab GPZ 7000 (an incredible machine) at a depth of over 14 inches. Upon initial cleaning to remove dirt and caliche, I was shocked by what was revealed. I found myself looking at the image of Madonna and Child with what I describe as rays of sunlight behind. It has been some conversation piece between friends and colleagues. Some describe seeing what appears to be the hand of God wrapping around Mary and Child with the Holly Spirit surrounding her. Regardless of what each person may or may not see, the beauty and rarity of this chevron nugget cannot be overlooked. I ended the day having added several more nuggets to my pouch. It was one of the most fulfilling metal detecting days I’ve ever had. Thank you Minelab for making such quality products.
