Kids Experience The Excitement Of Discovery With GO-FIND 20

I got a last minute call to go to a Children's Camp at The Salvation Army (I work for them) and teach at their Wilderness Camp at Camp Sebago. I took along 3 GO-FIND 20’s with me and gave the campers a 45 minute preparation class where I showed them how to hunt, how to pinpoint and how to dig.  This was followed by two 45 classes of actual detecting.  We divided the campers into teams where one detected and the partner then searched for what was to be found.  They then switched roles. At the beginning it was all foreign to them, but it did not take long to figure things out.

They found some very nice things during the 4 days of use.  The first was a 1903 V Nickel, then a Gold ring, A Buffalo/Indian Head Nickel and they came the silver, 2 pristine Barber Dimes.  To say it best, these kids enjoyed the Metal Detecting Adventures we had!

The detector's worked very well. The kids quickly figured out that a good signal was worth the extra time locating and digging.

Learning to pinpoint with the detectors and then using a pinpointer to dig was quite an eye opening experience.  The look on their faces was precious as they figured out rather quickly that there is a lot of stuff in the ground.

The campers were from 11 to 15 years old and all come from difficult home situations.  While they were detecting they were the happiest kids you would ever want to see.

Thanks for providing a quality product that works.  We were more than pleased with the Minelab GO-FIND 20's.  They did more than what they were supposed to do.

Here are a few photos of what was found.
