19 May 2017

Spanish

No había nada.

My story is about a rescue of a watch that my brother lost, a limited edition Tag Heuer, valued at more than 2000 euros, and with great emotional load for my brother. He lost it in the sea, when he jumped from his boat and struck him and went to the bottom. He was searching for hours without success, so days later when I could, we approached with my Excalibur 1000. We spent more than three hours looking for the watch in the area, with a tiring surf and a relentless sun, we did not succeed either. We went two days later, at dawn, to find the beach more quiet of people and waves, since in the morning it tends to be quieter. More than three hours looking unsuccessfully, asking ourselves why we were failing. Would it be in deeper water? Was the detector faulty?

We decided to leave the search for another day of the following week, and we left in a straight line towards the shore. My brother commented that perhaps the current had taken the watch to the coast, but I told him that it would have to be a long time, since that can take years. The detector sounded, since it carried it on taking advantage of the section that we left. I thought "at least to see if we go home with a euro in the pocket and not veneers and nails." I knelt to see if I could feel with the hand since the pinch was superficial. There was nothing. On my knees the water came down my neck, and I could not dig with my hand. I dug my scoop and my brother looked inside. He said "Luis, it's the watch !!".

We had found the watch, under incredible circumstances. At more than 10 meters from the coast where I had lost it, a foot deep in the sand, and casually by where we had decided to leave, in a strip of more than 20 meters wide that is where he lost. We did not believe it, it was impossible so much chance, but there it was, with the chain busted by the blow, but whole. After a while it started to work, since it does not go stacks, it's kinetic.

When there was no hope we found it! We recovered the watch and it gave us an incredible story to tell.
