I went hunting with a buddy to a small old mill community in northeast Georgia that we have been hunting on and off for a while now. We have found some really cool stuff and plenty of older coins. Well, on this day I found another watch fob but was not sure how old this one was until I got home and researched it. I thought at first it had something to do with Redman chewing tobacco. I learned that the Order Of Redmen was the oldest order fraternal organization that started in the US. In 1834 it was changed to the Improved Order Of Redmen. This fob dates from 1900 to 1910. This was a great find and great history lesson for me. I love fobs because you can find a bunch of information on them. It ties this area to a order that I never knew about and am waiting on the Oder to reply to my email to see when the last Tribe as they call them was here in Georgia.
