Minelab

2 finds 1 week - by Dave

29 Jan 2016

I have used Minelabs for many years with varying degrees of success, I purchased a Go-Find 60 mainly for use when I am away, its weight and the way it folds down is fantastic. Anyway I decided to search a local beach which had been battered by heavy rain and high winds. This beach has high dunes that have been popular with both children and adults with many jumping from the top onto the soft sand at the bottom. When I got down to searching I found that a few of the high dunes had collapsed I started finding corroded coinage, after about 30 minutes I got a lovely reading and found the stuning gents gold ring. It dayes from themid 1970's juding by its style. Its the heaviest ring that i have ever found and to top it off its hallmark reveals it to be 18ct. The Go-Find paid for itself in one outing. A week later I found myself on a local farm that I have searched many times in the past each with differing degrees of sucess, it throws just enough up to keep me going back there. I was searching along a hedgeline about 20 feet into the field when I got a reading that just screamed dig me. At a depth of about 6 inches a medieval silver groat of Edward 4th showed its face, its in brilliant condition considering that its pushing 650 years old and is without any doubt the best hammered coin I have ever found. The Go-Find is now my machine of choice when I go out its even put my Etrac to shame lately and that has taken so doing. Well done Minelab for producing such a great machine.
