West bound to the cave of Edmond Dante's today is where I plan on starting out. As you will see, I stayed. I THINK THE LITTLE FLOUNDER was my luck today.
Now many targets for us, but what targets I did dig today were nice tickets – surfchurch – what a day- saw some silver rings too.

Went down to one of my favorite metal detecting beaches, in southern California. I mostly search the wet sand, using a Whites PI machine, which I can knock out some of the iron, some of the time no big deal fairly clean beach.
Other times a lot more shows up, So recently i had bought my first Minelab Machine (Sovereign GT), I had heard a lot of good things about it, knocks out the junk, works great.

CTX 3030

A great weekend away fishing at our little shack on Yorke's Peninsula suddenly turned into a nightmare when my beautiful diamond ring, which had been a 25th wedding anniversary present from my husband, 5 years earlier, flew off my finger and into the choppy sea!
The events unfolded after I had rowed our dinghy out to the weed-line some distance from shore but still only in about 2 metres of water. Having tossed the anchor overboard I proceeded to bait up my hand line and having just caught a slimy trumpeter, flung out the newly baited line once again. This time though, my heart stopped as I realised my ring had flown off my finger along with the line. I had recently had the ring resized as it was a little tight and as my hands were slippery, it made for the perfect storm.

CTX 3030

After a long while without going out (busy schedule with a little new comer in the family who is now 5 month old... and the two others...) I decided to cover myself well in order to see if the storm brought something in, the sand of the beach not far from my home as been wiped out as a consequence of the huge swell from the previous days.
Jumping on this opportunity, I decided to take my new CTX 3030 equipped with the CTX 17’ Smart Coil freshly out of the box. The beach is vast and free of trash so this coil will allow me to cover more area and maybe find more interesting spots.

Eureka Gold

Back on the beach today on the Mornington Peninsula with my Eureka gold and I brought my little friend, the Minelab PRO-FIND 25. It's the first time I have used it, and I must say it works like a treat.
Pinpointing targets was so easy and cuts my recovery time, which leaves me more time for detecting. I have used other brands, and I can say the PRO-FIND 25 should be on the top of any detectorist's list.

Went to the ocean today for a low tide hunt and my trusty waterproofed Explorer SE Pro hits two nice gold bands - 1 is 14k and 1 is 10k - thank you Minelab!

Winner of Find of the Month - March 2013
It was a cold day out there for detecting. However, the symptoms of cabin fever where powerful enough to get me on an iceberg barefoot if someone told me there was treasure buried in it.
A recent blizzard tore up the local coastline and I needed to get out and take my Sovereign GT for a stroll in the cold. I was coming up on my fourth hour and my finds pouch was starting to annoy me as it overflowed with typical coastal trash. I just dropped my gloves in the wet sand as I fumbled with a granola bar that was being eyeballed by hungry seagulls.

Excalibur II

My wife and I went detecting at a favorite beach of ours. I was detecting where the rocks are that go out into the water, when I got a solid signal. About 10 inches down was a large man's ring.
Well it turned out to be a Platinum and Diamond ring. It has 11 Diamonds at .13 carats each. The ring weighs a whopping 16.5 grams. My appraisal just came in while I was typing this, it's worth a whopping $ 5,400.00. Love my Excalibur II.

Excalibur 1000
March 14, 2013 09:55am
Headed out on the 23rd of Feb to hunt around the area west of the big rocks where we like to hunt sometimes. Construction crews have been removing old jettys and we are hitting them hard until they back fill with new sand like I had seen them doing yesterday.
Had my Excalibur 1000 with me that day. The hunt for me was pretty uneventful, I was actually getting a bit frustrated as I had only found a few coins and LOTS more aluminum slag.....that stuff is EVERYWHERE down there! Along with all the iron as well.
