Wedding Band Recovery

06 Aug 2013

Was out on the beach with the family today. I brought the Excalibur II along since low tide was around 12:30. Did some hunting in the water and the wet sand with very little results. So packed up the family a little while later and loaded up the truck to head back home.

As I was pulling out, my phone rang and it was a buddy of mine who happens to be a police officer in the town where I work. He asked if I was around and I said sure am, what's up? He was out with a couple and family that had lost two white gold / diamond wedding bands. I said, well I am actually about 2 miles away so I will swing by and see what I can do. So I arrive (family in tow and my three year old is passed out in the car seat from our beach trip). I leave the wife in the truck with my son and meet up with the couple at the beach ramp.

I get down to where they claim the rings may be and start swinging the Excalibur II. After, literally three minutes I get that sweet low growl and sure enough out pops both bands in one scoop. Needless to say the bride and mother in law were besides themselves ecstatic as was the husband. Total alleged value $8,500.00.. So first recovery and return with the new Excalibur II. Now if I could only find some "unexpectedly" one day, lol... Recovery's and returns are always some of the BEST perks of this hobby...
