Vikings at the gate of Paris

22 Dec 2013

It has been a while, but finally I can put again a story down here after too long not searching. And only working, working. But all the waiting payed off. After a car drive 350 KM towards a spot, and then again back. I got permission from the farmer, when he was taking out the sugar beets at the same time. I knew there has been an old castle from the early 9th century. I found several coins. But one coin I was very happy with. The coin was stamped in by order of Charles the Bald in 847.

In that same year a great number of Vikings stood at the Gates of Paris (know now as Paris) They were payed off with the same coins I found one. So they left the city in one peace. It was again a thrilling find with my beloved brand Minelab!! Best regards all, and have nice finds in 2014
