Roman Play Stone

09 Jan 2012

The E-TRAC in the car, and of to search with a friend to a place where you can find Roman coins. Only after a month of rain it was really not attainable with the detector in hand. To much clay was sticking on the E-TRAC, and digging was not possible. But the rain was not all bad. Because of the heavy rain the soil was cleaned, and you could see fragments of Roman pottery and also some parts of glass artifacts. Then in the courner of my eye I saw a shinning piece in the mud. I pict up the piece, and it was to my suprice a Roman playstone made of dark purple glass.

Thay used it for a board game. No sound from the detector this time, but still a great find . Greatings to you all Rob van der Zander - Zeeland, Netherlands
