Rewriting History

15 Dec 2013

I was working the mud flats along the Gorge waterway here in Victoria BC with my CTX 3030. The first hit was a 1891 fishscale nickle, so called because of their small size, and then a faceless silver dime. My next keeper was a 1917 large cent. The final keeper as the tide was coming in was a 1551-1553 Shilling. If this coin was dropped by one of Drake's crew it could ad credence to the theory that Drake did indeed visit Vancouver Island between 1577 and 1580.
