Rare James II Groat

19 Feb 2015

I was recently on a club dig with coil to the soil metal detecting club and it was a lovely day bit chilli but not as bad as normal, I was out with my CTX 3030 and put some new pasture settings in and started detecting, It my hands started to get a bit cold and was starting to feel numb and I was talking to one of the other members who happened to have some hand warmers in his bag at the top of the field so without further a due I started walking up got the hand warmers and took a different path on the way back , I started getting some good signals and they were turning out to be full silvers, Sixpences and shillings ect It was in the afternoon that a certain signal was going to light up my day, I got an iffy signal but decided I was going to dig it anyway as I recall a previous signal on a previous dig I had a similar signal and turned out to be a very nice hammered so I dug this signal usually I am filming but with it being iffy decided not too then I found my target and was stunned to see what a beautiful coin I had found didn't know what it was but I turned my camera on and filmed it a little, I decided to take a picture of it and post it on Facebook for identification it wasn't until members started commenting that i knew then I had found a really nice coin, Everyone was so happy for me and I just couldn't believe it, 7 silvers I had that day and every one of them made it so wiry while my hands being numb.
