My name is jacob and I'm 13 yrs, i have been detecting for a year now using a cheap metal detector from a local electronics store. I had not found much apart from a few pennies here and there, but on Christmas day 2014 i got an X-TERRA 305. After a few hunts of learning how to use it i decided to go to a local park one morning with my mum and brother. My first signal was a solid 36 which turned out to be a penny that was cut in half. My second signal was a 1947 penny and on my third signal i pulled out the plug and saw a silver edge, i ran to the car got my camera and filmed the find which turned out to be my first silver coin, a 1944 threepence! I was so excited!!!
