Minelab

my first roman

30 Nov 2014

After 3 years of hard searching and 3 different detectors I finally got my first Roman coin using the Explorer SE Pro . As I was finding a few Edward 2nd hammered coins I got my ears tuned in to just trying to detect this tone, so when I went over this Roman I initially walked over it about another 5-10meters curiosity took over and I turned back to go check it out I dug a small hole and it was by there so I dug little more prob me around 9" the signal was quite solid and I thought it was iron.. then I saw a bluish green patina and knelt down and notice the coin and a head I'd never seen or a coin I'd never seen before my first Roman and it’s a nice one so I thanked the land and kissed the detector and moved on with the biggest smile on my face, I went home with 1 Roman and 2 hammereds and a small piece of a hammered coin.

This detector will find anything and I have full confidence in it but I'm now trying to save up for a larger coil to try get the extra depth then I can back on to the field next year and hit it again. I'm still in the process of identifying my Roman.
