Holed Seated Dollar

12 Jul 2015

I have been using the CTX 3030 since October of 2014. This past week on July the 4th, I found my first seated coin a 1876 seated dime. I have been metal detecting for 4 years and a seated coin had been high on my wish list. I did not have to wait long for my second. A week later I found my second seated coin that is by far the best find of my life. We went to a home located on an 1840's gristmill. The Mill has been hunted many times by several others over the years. As I worked along a sidewalk I got a nice 12-43 signal that I thought was going to be a dime. I opened the plug and brushed back some loose soil and the coins rim appeared. To my delight I realized it was much too thick to be a dime as I pulled it from the earth I was shocked and amazed to see a silver dollar emerge from the hole. An 1869 seated dollar. The CTX has been an absolute amazing tool. The more versed I become with the machine the more success I have.
