On Monday, the 25th, I received two calls within an hour requesting help to find two lost gold rings.
On the 20th I had a shoulder operation, although still in pain and handicapped with the one arm not being able to dig. I invited a fellow metal detector along to do the 400km trip driving. We stopped at a farm in Wellington, where a 2ct gold ring was lost next to a swimming pool.
It took about an hour to find the ring in a cycad tree, next stop was at another farm in a shallow river near Cape Town, after finding sunglasses, a electronic cigarette and some coins, the 18ct engagement ring popped out in the shallow river. Needless to say, both parties were over the moon that their rings were recovered.
