GPZ 7000 Strikes Gold In SA

10 Mar 2015

As soon as I picked up the GPZ 7000 from Miner's Den on release, I headed to the local goldfields in the Adelaide Hills. Within an hour of detecting with the start-up settings, I had a definite signal which just begged to be dug up. At least 14 inches deep, I had this large piece of conglomerate with tiny piece of gold popping out. This rock was heavy around 500 grams. Going over the dirt that came out of the hole was another signal. Turned out to be a nice little specimen with less than a gram of gold in it. The conglomerate was smashed up to reveal a 8.4 gram specimen. Further acid dipping revealed a stunning crystalline gold nugget weighing at 7.6 grams. Enjoying using this detector, hopefully many more good days out to come.
