Hi Guys and Girls My 1st ever metal detector and my 1st time prospecting I just bought myself a GPX 5000. 1st time out I went to Ophir in NSW as it is around 20 minutes from my house in Orange. Searching through some old broken dirt around 5 minutes drive from the camp ground I came across this lovely 13 gram specimen which is around half quartz. Got my heart pumping when I seen it was gold and not a bottle cap. Thanks to Kim at Nuggets From Down Under in Mudgee for being so helpful in my purchase of my detector.
