Minelab

Goldstrike

07 Jan 2015

The last day of the year 2014 I had a little spare time and i went out with my metal detector. Three weeks before i bought the E-TRAC. My wife was not very happy that i spent a lot of money on a detector. But i wanted it anyway. So i went to Enschede, visiting Gert Gesink, Minelab expert. He taught me how to use the machine, and he taught me well!

When I was searching the ground I got a nice signal. So I swept the coil another time over the same spot. Still a very nice signal. I started digging and then I saw this beautiful gold coin. Then I started my research to determine the coin. I couldn´t find it on the internet, so i asked several coin experts if they could help me.

The gold coin is an Elizabeth 1st ryal 15 shilling piece from around the year 1584.

A British gold coin in Dutch soil!. Kind Regards Jan - Vollenhove, The Netherlands
