CTX 3030 and a Confederate Belt Plate

08 Oct 2015

I purchased my CTX-3030 over a year ago. While learning it, I took it to my “hunted out” Civil War campsite. I decided trying outside the campsite a little. Soon, I dug my first keeper with my new machine. An old broach dating to around the late 1800’s. It has a gold back, a silver front, and glass stones. Fast forward, to a few weeks ago. I decided to go back to this campsite again to test some new setting. I wasn’t there long at all when I dug my first Confederate “CS” belt plate. This was being masked by some iron, but my CTX picked it right up. I hit this trashy area again and got this sash buckle plate a week later. Needless to say, I love my new settings! And like the old saying goes, “it’s never completely hunted out.”
