Christian pectoral cross

20 Jan 2015

It was a cold January day. The sky was overcast, and my fingers were rebellious because of the cold. I’ve hunted for treasures near the ancient capital of one of the principalities of Kievska Rus - Chernigov. Monotonous walk with my Minelab E-TRAC was broken by clear signal. And now - my most valuable discovery in 2014 year, - early Christian pectoral cross. Such crosses began to produce in the 10th century, just after the baptism of Kievska Rus in the Byzantine Empire. At that time, when I brush away the dirt, even as it seemed to me, the clouds parted and the sun lit up the sky.
