I have been detecting for a number of years now, when I decided to purchase a new detector, looking through the mags I decided to upgrade to an X-TERRA 705, after having an X-TERRA 70 which served me great. On this particular Sunday my mate Alf suggested we try a new farm that I have not done before. When we arrived and started looking we saw a nice field with no foot prints or holes in so we decided to give it a go being still new to the 705 outcome the instruction book, after following the instructions I noticed that the field was quite iron infested-that's why there was no foot prints so played with the controls again and after a while got a signal which sounded a bit like iron but with not so deep so I decided to dig it I could not believe it the smallest cut quarter I have seen and my first one too! then came a tiny buckle of 1300-1600 which gave a cracking signal, then within 20 minutes a hammered of one of the Edwards-the detector seemed to sniff out these and ignore the iron-this detector seems to be better than my old one. I cannot sing the praises of the 705 any higher it is a fantastic detector and will recommend it to any serious detectorist looking for a new machine.
