I hunt for civil war relics in Virginia. I've been doing it for ten years. I have around five places I mainly hunt. I used a White's Dfx for the first seven, then I purchased a Tdi. Now I'm not saying I didn't find anything with these machines, but the differences in the trash I've dug compared to my new E-TRAC is phenomenal!
All the pictures attached are from the sights I'd been over with my other machines. The main advantage I have is that the other machines just could not handle the trash at these sights or were not stable enough around the cattle fences. Enter the E-TRAC, now the electrical noise interference is minimal, and this machine with a few minor settings sees through the nails that are littered all over my favorite sights.
I've attached the pictures if what I've been missing. This past week I pulled my 100th civil war bullet out of the ground along with a box plate. Then came my proudest find ever! An identification tag! The tag reads, Thos (Thomas) J Edwards / Co C / 1st Michigan Infantry / Enlisted Nov 2nd 1861 / Ann Arbor Michigan. I did a little research on him, and I found out he was wounded close by.
As I pass this area I can't help but think what it must have been like for him on that day. I've included the only picture of him I was able to find. Thanks for reading, and in closing remember to thank a veteran for their service. The price paid by their sacrifice is too often taken for granted!
