5000 years old bronze axe head

19 Mar 2014

Today after finding a 1863 Victorian penny, I then found a musket ball and a couple of modern coins, as I was walking back towards my home after one hours detecting, on my last signal of the day I began to dig and dig, then eventually at about 16 inches down I noticed the object at the bottom. After taking it out of the ground I realised that what I had found was a bronze axe head. After returning home I took it to an expert who informed me that it was between 4500-5000 years old.
