18oz Golden Aussie Day

20 Apr 2015

26/01/2015 what a Australian Day, 8 days into the trip and only found 21 grams and was pretty happy with I had, my legs, arms were sore and had 3 days to go. On the 25/01/15 about 430pm I stumbled on a patch picking up 12 solid nuggets ranging from 8g to 14g. As the sun was disappearing and a massive storm was approaching I could not pick them up fast enough as every step was a solid target. The lighting and rain set on by 6pm and forced me back to camp. 3 ounces in such a little time and knowing there was more was killing me. 65mm of rain that night and 80km wind gusts at one stage I thought I was have to pack camp up and get out otherwise I could be stuck for a week or 2. By 3am rain stopped and stars were out. 430am jumped on the quad and straight back into picking gold up.

Total 18oz Golden Aussie Day.

I called a mate and told him to come up and clean this patch right out using GPX 5000 and a range of coils until we could not get another bit of gold. As soon as the GPZ 7000 came on the market I was lucky to buy on straight away and went back to see if this machine is as good as minelab says it is. Bloody To Right it is I could not believe how many small ( .1 .2) bits of gold and 3 to 8 that where deeper but must have been laying on its side that the GPX could not pick up and species.

Cheers Minelab for a great product.
