I've owned my X-TERRA 505 since March last year and I'm totally blown away with its performance. It has more than held its own against other much more expensive detectors owned by my friends!
Over the last fifteen months it's found me all manner of interesting items including 18 hammered silver coins ranging from King John to Charles I, a good few Roman coins both debased silver and bronze, plus numerous buckles, brooches & other artifacts dating right back to the Bronze Age and even a couple of 17th century artifacts which are potential "treasure".
The highlight for me so far has been a lead document seal dating back to the 14th/15th century which, after research has proved to be the Plantagenet royal seal that was attached to the documentation granting a local manor & lands.
The manor was once owned by John of Gaunt & his son King Henry IV who gave it to the catholic church as a Chantry in 1410. It is sadly no longer in existence, having been destroyed by Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, and is now farmland. But the landowner is over the moon at my having found the seal which is the only physical item remaining. I found it at about 10 inches down in the pasture where some of the buildings once stood.
