The Smartest Thing I Ever Did

16 Jul 2011

I am a fireman so I use some of my time off to detect around old Civil War sites here in Arkansas. Although I am using an older version of the Minelab Explorer SE, the important thing to understand is the quality - my unit is perhaps six or seven years old but I have located many many items, including a pewter CSA buckle, several hundred bullets, and just the other day a pristine 1858 half dollar that looks like it just fell out of a soldier's pocket. Some of these items have been in the 8" to 10" range in depth, but the sophistication of the circuitry pulls them right out, even in the rocky hills of the Ozarks. I can assure you, if an older machine still operates this well, you can imagine how sharp the new ones are, and how much they will improve your ability to find.
