X-TERRA 70

Rome was everywhere

28 Apr 2014

Hi, my name is Luca and I live in Northern Italy. This part of Piedmont is called Canavese and is rich in history. There were before the Celts, tribes called the Salassi, and then came the Romans. With my X-TERRA 70 I decided to look into a cornfield to my property. It's funny how sometimes you need away from home only to find the most beautiful things very close to where you live.

That day arrived on the spot and I immediately noticed that the terrain was very dirty, and mineralized with many false signals. After adjusting my X-TERRA 70 better, I started to find. I must say that my metal detector has behaved very well and after about an hour of searching for a beautiful signal warned me of anything good about 35 cm. deep. I dug with care and then with the pinpointer I found the object.

To my surprise and satisfaction it was a beautiful Sestertius of Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor who ruled between 161 and 180 ad. In the photos you can see the side where there is the Emperor's face, while the other side unfortunately is very ruined. However I am very pleased with this currency and glad to be able to share with you.

Greetings!

Luca - Piedmont, Italy
