My first treasure

27 Nov 2014

Hi everybody! My name is Dmitry. I’m from Podolsk (not far from Moscow), Russia. I’d like to tell you my story happened a year ago before the end of my hunt season 2013.

Being a child I liked stories and having grown up in 2007 I devoted myself to military archeology. Together with my friends we seek soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic war 1941-1945. I started with military metal detector, but with it I could find only something big that lay superficially.

In spring 2013 I bought Minelab X-TERRA 705 and at once went to the field to check it. I was shocked. Old coins, crosses and icons were on my way. During that week I went on excavations several times. My collection increased. But before finishing my hunt season I went to the field not far from my city. There had been a village before. Having come I was disappointed as there were many pits – traces of diggers. In 15 minutes of searching with my X-TERRA 705 I found the first coin, in 5 min. a new copper coin. In 2 min. I heard a signal again, it was 5 kopeks of 1814 and not far I found copper coins of different years and values. In several steps I heard a signal again. It was the coin of Ekaterina II period 1763. The circulation of that coin was 251800. I was very happy to find it, cause in 2013 that coin was 250 years!

After that I understood that I’d found a treasure. There was a house on that place. All coins were lying on 10 square meters.

I remembered that case for life. It was the most interesting finding in all times. I’d like to thank you for your output and I wish all history and search lovers good luck and good findings!
