James 1st of Scotland 1603 hammered silver shilling

02 Aug 2016

I had never used my CTX 3030 in England until a couple of days ago, it is a killer silver coin magnet with incredible depth and a real god send in iron infested pasture land with the target ID features. This was my second signal on my first hunt of my trip to England. A James 1st of Scotland hammered silver shilling dated 1603 in as found condition. The photo does not do it justice and it's about the size of a US half dollar coin.

Hard to believe that coin was buried in the ground for over 400 years before me and my Minelab came along!
