I've had my detector in a few years and found pretty much great older stuff. But this night was quite unusual. After a search round I got a loud and clear signal. When I started to dig out the object I was absolutely speechless. What turned out in the soil was one of the finest I've ever seen. This is a buckle of a woman viking time dated 840-950's. It can be said with certainty in terms of the pattern to the buckle. I have seen some of these but never something so complete and undamaged and I think that this is maybe one of the finest ever found.
The buckle will now proceed to the museum for further consideration and I hope that it will inspire many in the future. Thank MINELAB for this amazing tool that helps to find secrets of the past.
